On December 20th, the KONG Center at J.D. Sims Recreation Center held its annual "Cookies and Cocoa" celebration, providing 65 local students with Christmas gifts. The gifts were made possible thanks to the generosity of Portman Holdings Service League, the Old 4th Ward community, and the KONG Center's board members.
The event was a festive gathering where children enjoyed cookies, cocoa, and the excitement of receiving holiday gifts. For many of these students, it was a memorable moment of joy during the holiday season.
"We are incredibly grateful to Portman Holdings Service League and the Old 4th Ward community for making this possible," said Kidd Kong, Executive Director of the KONG Center. "Their generosity has made the holidays brighter for 65 kids, and we couldn't be more thankful for their support."
The KONG Center remains dedicated to providing a safe space where students can feel welcome while participating in programs that support their growth and development.
